Sri Lanka: At least 2,000 break out of war zone
At least 2,000 ethnic Tamil civilians braved rebel fire and waded across a lagoon Thursday to break out of Sri Lanka's war zone, the military said, as the government pressed ahead with its battle to destroy the separatists.
